Manager-Housekeeping (JD-0020)
Overview: The Housekeeping Manager coordinates the day-to-day operations of all housekeeping services in patient care and administrative areas. The role ensures adequate staffing, quality control, implementation of infection control measures, and seamless communication between operational teams and clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- Develop department policies and cleaning protocols as per NABH/JCI guidelines.
- Assign daily duties to supervisors and monitor adherence to cleaning schedules.
- Inspect all zones (wards, ICUs, OPDs, common areas) for cleanliness.
- Ensure timely completion of deep cleaning, high-touch surface disinfection, and terminal cleaning.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and pest control materials.
- Train and orient new housekeeping staff on SOPs and safety.
- Collaborate with the outsource service providers for housekeeping, pest control, biomedical waste handing, etc.
- Ensure timely vendor payments.
- Maintain records of pest control, biomedical waste handling, and quality checks.
- Any other duty assigned by the reporting manager.
Qualification & Experience:
- Graduate in any stream (preferably science or hotel management)
- MBA/ PG Diploma in Facility Management/ Hotel Management preferred
- 8+ years’ hospital Experience with 3-5 years in a supervisory role
