F&B Manager (JD-0044)

Overview: The Food & Beverage Manager in a hospital is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and management of all food service operations. This includes patient meals, cafeteria services, special dietary needs, and staff dining. The role ensures compliance with hospital standards, safety regulations, and nutritional guidelines while delivering high-quality food services that enhance patient care and staff satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- Plan, organize, and supervise all F&B services across patient dining, cafeteria, and catering.
- Maintain inventory and oversee procurement of food, beverages, and supplies.
- Monitor kitchen operations, food preparation, and service to ensure quality and consistency.
- Enforce hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards in accordance with local health regulations and hospital policies.
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI, or local food safety standards.
- Work closely with dietitians and nutritionists to ensure meals meet medical and nutritional requirements for patients.
- Monitor timely preparation and delivery of meals that meet prescribed dietary needs.
- Implement diet plans as per individual patient needs (diabetic, renal, cardiac, etc.).
- Ensure food labelling, portion control, and allergy protocols are followed.
- Manage and train F&B staff (Chef, Supervisor, Cook, Bearer, etc.).
- Conduct regular performance reviews and enforce disciplinary procedures as needed.
- Promote teamwork and ensure compliance with hospital and food service protocols.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets and monitor food cost control.
- To be optimize resources to reduce waste and maximize efficiency.
- Analyse financial reports and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Address feedback from patients, staff, and visitors regarding food quality and service.
- Implement service improvement initiatives to enhance satisfaction.
- Coordinate special dietary services for events, VIP patients, or celebrations.
- Conduct regular audits of kitchen, storage, and service areas.
- Allocate daily responsibilities, prepare rosters, and manage shift planning.
Qualification & Experience:
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Hotel Management, Food & Nutrition, Hospitality Management, or related field.
- Certification in Food Safety is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in food service management in large setup.
- At least 5 years of experience in a 200 + bedded hospital.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations
- Budget adherence and food cost control
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Computer proficiency in MS Office
- Compliance with safety and hygiene audits
