Dietician (JD-0039)

Overview: The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for delivering evidence-based nutritional care to patients in a hospital setting. This includes assessing nutritional needs, developing and implementing medical nutrition therapy plans, and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to support patient recovery and health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- Conduct nutritional assessments of patients based on medical history, lab data, physical examinations, and dietary intake analysis.
- Identify patients at nutritional risk and prioritize care accordingly.
- Develop individualized nutrition care plans aligned with patient diagnoses and treatment goals.
- Implement and monitor nutrition interventions for various clinical conditions such as diabetes, renal disease, cancer, malnutrition, gastrointestinal disorders, and post-surgical recovery.
- Modify dietary plans based on patient progress, tolerance, and changing medical conditions.
- Provide nutrition counseling to patients and families, focusing on therapeutic diets, lifestyle changes, and long-term disease management.
- Develop and distribute educational materials tailored to patient needs and literacy levels.
- Participate in ward rounds, case conferences, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Coordinate with food service personnel to ensure accurate and timely delivery of prescribed diets.
- Assist in planning therapeutic menus that meet nutritional standards and hospital guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes in patient medical records.
- Adhere to hospital policies, local health authority regulations, and professional standards of clinical nutrition practice.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognized University.
- 5+ years of clinical dietetics experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong clinical knowledge of disease-specific nutrition therapy.
- Strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
