Overview: The Deputy Security Officer supports the Security Officer in managing and implementing security strategies to protect the organization’s personnel, property, and information. This role involves overseeing daily operations, responding to incidents, enforcing security policies, and coordinating with internal departments and external agencies. The ideal candidate has a strong background in physical and/or information security, excellent leadership skills, and a proactive approach to risk management.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

• Assist the SO in developing and implementing security policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of security personnel.
• Monitor surveillance systems, access controls, and alarm systems.
• Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and inspections.
• Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies; conduct investigations and prepare detailed reports.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, and regulatory agencies as necessary.
• Provide training and support to security staff on procedures and emergency responses.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security threats, trends, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and internal policies.
• Deputize for the SO during absences or as delegated.
• Coordinate inspections and statutory certifications.

Qualification & Experience:

• Graduate in any stream.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in security management preferably in a 300 + bedded hospital in similar position.
• Military/ Para Military, law enforcement, or corporate security background is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of physical security systems and emergency response planning.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity practices is a plus.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Proficient in report writing and incident documentation.
• Integrity, discretion, and a high level of professionalism
