Overview: The Assistant Nursing Superintendent (ANS) is responsible for the supervision of assigned nursing units and staff. The role includes supporting ward operations, ensuring compliance with nursing protocols, managing rosters, and maintaining quality patient care standards. The ANS assists in training, performance evaluations, and acts as a bridge between senior nursing leadership and the clinical team.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

• Assist DNS in managing nursing departments and implementing strategies.
• Supervise nursing supervisors, senior nurses, and administrative activities.
• Ensure compliance with staffing norms, patient safety, and clinical protocols.
• Monitor patient care outcomes and help implement quality improvement measures.
• Coordinate training programs, orientation, and continuous education for nurses.
• Address staff grievances, evaluate performance, and foster team motivation.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth patient care delivery.
• Any other duty assigned by the reporting manager.

Qualification & Experience:

• B.Sc./ M.Sc. Nursing or Nursing Administration is highly preferred.
• Nursing Registration in State/Indian Nursing Council.
• Certification in Hospital Administration or Management is an advantage.
• Minimum of 8–10 years of clinical nursing experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• At least 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory role such as Ward In-Charge, Nursing Supervisor, or equivalent.
• Proven experience in managing nursing staff, clinical operations, and patient care coordination.
• Familiarity with hospital policies, nursing protocols, and accreditation standards (e.g., NABH, JCI) is required.
• Experience with staff training, performance evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives is preferred.
